Published in december 2007 this tape mixes rare and classic rockers tunes from 1980s Jamaica. This is the sound of early dancehall before it went digital. Download and listen to nuff tunes with singjays such as Triston Palma, Mikey Melody, Robert Ffrench and many other more or less obscure singers.

Hej - Som gammel reggae-fan er jeg idag blevet gjort opmærksom på jer via Politiken.
Hvorfor jeg har overset jer tidligere har nok noget med ordet gammel at gøre….(Jeg lytter heller ikke til radio)
Jeg har selv en samling på ca. 300 reggae-plader, (primært roots-dub) som er samlet siden slut-70′erne.
Nå, det jeg vil frem til er, at I måske overser et par gamle mestre (bevidst ell. ubevidst ??) - der virkelig swinger - nemlig Ernest Ranglin - og Rico - ikke mindst.
Det kunne da være sjovt med et genhør på et kommende mixtape.
Masser af positive tanker herfra.

Tak for interessen!
Vores lydsystem spiller ikke roots og dub, men derimod dancehall (og lidt rocksteady). Det er altså kun undtagelsesvist, at vi spiller tunes fra før 1980. Ernest Ranglin var en stor guitarist, som har lavet fantastiske plader, men det er ikke den slags musik, vi har specialiseret os i.
Hvis du til gengæld prøver at lytte til vores mixtapes med musik fra 1980′erne, så kan jeg garantere dig, at der vil være tonsvis af tunes, som du aldrig før har hørt. Giv det en chance, og ellers alt godt herfra!
